Herbal Glossary

All of my products contain macerated oils, or infused oils. Here's a brief glossary of the herbs used. This is not a comprehensive guide to each herbal power, but rather highlights the aspects of the plant utilized in my products through maceration.


Calendula Calendula officinalis

Packed with antioxidants that help fight inflammation. Very rejuvenation, and is wonderful for dry or sensitive skin.

Calendula conditions, soothes, repairs and protects skin. Use on small cuts or abrasions; as it is mildly antiseptic, Calendula helps prevent infection. Apply after sun exposure to ensure your skin stays in great condition.


Chamomile Matricaria recutita

Soothing, mildly astringent and antibacterial. Relieves discomfort from itchy or inflamed skin. A friend to sensitive skin.

great for sensitive skin, relieving itchy and inflamed skin. Helpful for eczema or other dry skin conditions.

Chaparral Larrea tridentata

Chaparral runs wild in desert lands. It's high resin content allows it to live for hundreds, even thousands of years.

Chaparral is a known and utilized anti-bacterial agent when applied topically. By slowing down the production of bad bacteria, it prevents infection. It is also anti-microbial, preventing the spreading of bacteria growth.

Speeds up the process of slow healing cuts, and provides collagen at the surface of your wound, which minimizes scarring. Great in your first aid kit, or used for long term dressing of wounds that don't want to close up.

Also used a stabilizer in oil products, allowing these products to last longer on your shelf with chemical preservatives.

Comfrey Symphytum officinale

Comfrey is known for healing cuts and scratches. Anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating for the skin. 

Allantoin, one of the compounds found in Comfrey, provides healing, prevents moisture loss, and stimulates cell growth, making it an excellent skin rejuvenator for cracked or damaged skin.

Macerated Comfrey Oil has been used since ancient times for healing wounds, ulcers, insect bites and various skin irritations. It’s anti-bacterial properties help prevent wounds from become infected.

Desert Lavender

Desert Lavender Hyptis emoryi

Calming and Cooling. Astringent and Anti-Microbial. Great for hands that take a beating, inflamed or dry skin, and small wounds that need a healing boost.

Heal wounds and prevent infection. Cooling effects make it an excellent friend for easing inflammation, and pain. 


Recommended for those who work with their hands, or are on their feet all day.

Mugwort Artemisia v

An anti-bacterial anti-fungal topical anesthetic. Brings a slight sedative quality to areas of arousal.

The Dream Herb. Opens up space for vivid dreaming, and helps intensify lucid dreaming. Rub on temples, forehead and chest prior to sleeping to encourage prophetic dreaming. 

Rub externally on temples and forehead to relieve discomfort from headaches. Rub on uterine area to temper menstrual discomfort.


We do not offer Mugwort for internal consumption in our shop, but we always like to remind folks: Do Not Use Internally If Pregnant or Attempting to Become Pregnant!



Rose Rosa damascena

Used topically, rose infusions promote cell rejuvenation due to being loaded with Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. The anti-septic properties heal and soothe skin conditions, such as a cut from pimple popping. 

Found in SUB ROSA.


Rosemary Rosmarinus officinalis

Antiseptic, astringent and full of antioxidants. Rosemary oil relieves muscle pain and relaxes nerves. Massage lotion or oil infused with Rosemary to stimulate circulation and ease muscle tension.  

Rosemary encourages mature or drying skin to produce more of it's own oils.
